Nature Walk at Cypress Meadow
Sept. 28, 9-10:30 a.m.Ever wondered about the small ponds you see strategically placed throughout our community?
Those constructed wetlands are part of IRWD's Natural Treatment System, a cost-effective and environmentally sound method for treating urban runoff before it reaches Upper Newport Bay. They also are a welcoming refuge for wildlife — particularly birds such as wrens, bluebirds, swallows and hawks.
Learn more about the treatment process while enjoying an interpretive nature walk along one of our sites, Cypress Meadow.
Guests will be led on a slow-paced 2-mile walk over flat terrain. Please bring a reusable water bottle; IRWD will have a water cooler for guests to use.
This event is free and open to IRWD customers 16 and older. Participants are allowed one guest each (must also be an IRWD customer). Registration is required.
When: Sunday, Sept. 28, 9-10:30 a.m.
Where: Cypress Community Park, Irvine. (Directions and parking information will be sent to all registrants before to the walk.)
