 What payment options do I have to pay my bill?

IRWD offers many ways for you to pay your bill. Please view our Payment Options.

  • IRWD eBill:  Not only is eBill paperless and's good for the environment. If you sign up for eBill, you will recieve an email letting you know when your bill is ready to view and pay online. 
  • Bill Matrix: You can also make one time payments using Bill Matrix over the telephone or by computer with a credit card, debit card or electronic check. a $2.95 service fee is charged by Bill Matrix.
  • Traditional: You may also opt for the more traditional ways of bill pay by putting a check in the mail or you are welcome to come into our Sand Canyon office to pay in person. The office is located at 15600 Sand Canyon Ave. Irvine, CA 92618. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Automatic Payment Program: If you prefer receiving a paper bill in the mail, but would also like to have your monthly charges paid automatically from your checking account, this is the option for you. Please contact Customer Service at 949-453-5300 to sign up for the IRWD Automatic Payment Program. Please have your 9-digit routing number and checking account number available.
Why is my bill so high?
Having difficulty paying your bill?

If you are having difficulty paying your water bill on time, please call Customer Service at 949-453-5300 before the payment is due to make payment arrangements. In some circumstances, financial assistance may be available from private, local, state, or federal sources. Our Customer Service Department will be happy to provide you with this information.

 How to dispute your bill

If you dispute the amount charged, please call our Customer Service Department at 949-453-5300 for an explanation.  If you are still not satisfied, you must submit your complaint, or request for review, in writing to IRWD within fifteen days of receipt of your bill. Your service will not be interrupted until the review has been completed and you have been notified of the District's decision. You will then be given an opportunity to pay the bill or make payment arrangements to avoid interruption of service.

 How to avoid interruption of service

We will not interrupt your service for nonpayment of a bill if you establish to our satisfaction that you are financially unable to pay the bill in full and/or that interruption of service would result in a life-threatening situation, provided you agree to pay the past due bill in reasonable installments while keeping any future bills current. We may ask you to furnish proof from a a licensed physician, public health officer, or social worker.
