PLANT LIKE A LOCAL WORKSHOP SERIES
Part 1: Prep for Fall Planting
Sept. 13, 6 p.m.
In part 1 of the Plant Like a Local Workshop Series, you'll learn everything you need to know about plant selection, watering, harvesting, sprinkler systems and landscape inspections. With our helpful tips and tricks, your garden will be set up to explode with life and color next spring.

Part 2: Landscaping to Protect Our Ocean
Oct. 18, 6 p.m.
Did you know that simple changes to your yard can protect our ocean? In part 2 of the Plant Like a Local Workshop Series, you’ll learn about creating healthy living soil, sustainable water management and rain catching, selecting California-friendly plants, as well as the irrigation and maintenance skills you’ll need to create a stunning, ocean-friendly yard.

Volunteers needed! Join us for our annual Watershed Cleanup Day and be a part of this year’s statewide tally for California Coastal Cleanup Day. Volunteers are needed to clear trash from San Diego Creek before it reaches the ocean.

Community Tour for Residents

Have you ever wondered what happens to your water after it disappears down the drain? At our community tours you’ll learn about the journey of water, witness the water recycling process, and see how IRWD encourages water efficiency and environmental stewardship. The tour requires 3 miles of walking.

Smart Irrigation Event at Irvine Home Depot
Oct. 21, 8 a.m.-noon
Join us for a Shed Show Road Show! Juan and his friends will offer tips on plants, give demonstrations on irrigation repair and setting your sprinkler timer, provide help on applying for rebates, and more! Get a free* Smart Sprinkler Controller at the event, plus get help from IRWD staff on the rebate process.
