IRWD offers educational events to our customers so you can tour our facilities, learn about water efficiency and more. Here's what's coming up in March and April.
FEATURED EVENT

IRWD Community Tour – Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Michelson Water Recycling Plant, 15 Riparian View, Irvine
Registration: This event is free for IRWD customers, but registration is required. Sign up today
Tour our Michelson Water Recycling Plant and learn how IRWD treats and reuses the water that disappears down your drain. In the afternoon, get a guided tour of the ponds and trails at our San Joaquin Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. Lunch and light breakfast will be served.

Smart Irrigation Event at Tustin Home Depot – Saturday, May 6, 8 a.m.-noon

Where: Tustin Home Depot, 2782 El Camino Real
Registration: This is a walk-up event; no registration is required.
Get help with a mail-in rebate to cover the cost of a smart timer, and chat with IRWD landscape guru Juan Garcia about ways to make your landscape more water-friendly at this event. Plus: take pics with the shed from The Shed Show, the IRWD video series all about water-efficient landscaping.

Earth Day 2023 is April 22, and this year marks the 53rd anniversary of Celebrate Earth Day. Now is the time to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods — and together, embody this year's Earth Day theme: Invest in Our Planet. Go to Quail Hill Community Center to enjoy guided hikes, a compost demo, interactive activities offered by the City of Irvine and partner agencies.
OC Fair's Imaginology – April 15-16 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Where: OC Fair & Event Center, Costa Mesa

OC Fair's Imaginology provides unique experiences for attendees of all ages – from preschool to high school, and their parents and grandparents – to build, create, play, observe and interact through activities that help them see the possibilities of a future in S.T.E.A.M. fields. Imaginology features makeshops, demonstrations, competitions, hands-on activities, and entertainment.
Earth Day at the Bay – April 22, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center, Newport Beach

A free family-friendly day full of hands-on arts and crafts, educational activities, and science discovery. Enjoy live music as you explore Adventure Partners’ booths, take a break for a tasty treat at one of the food trucks, and don’t forget to complete the scavenger hunt for prizes and giveaways.
Earth Day in the Woods – April 22, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Scheduled events include tree planting, education seminar, and a presentation by the OC Bird of Prey Center. There will also be participant booths at which the relevant experts will be available to dispense valuable information and answer questions. The event will also include food trucks, face painting, volunteer opportunities, crafts, freebies, and more.
