The Irvine Ranch Water District Board of Directors has voted to appoint Cindy L. Miller, PE, to fill a vacancy on the board.
Miller will represent IRWD’s Division 1, which encompasses portions of Irvine, Lake Forest, Orange, and unincorporated Orange County. Miller’s term will run through November 2028, when the Division 1 seat is up for election.
Miller is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer with 32 years of experience planning, designing, delivering and overseeing water supply, treatment, storage and conveyance projects throughout Southern California. She has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from UC Irvine, and works as vice president and Irvine operations manager for Hazen and Sawyer, a consulting firm serving primarily public agencies with focus on the water industry.
Miller was selected at a special board workshop and candidate forum on Sept. 17 from among four candidates who applied for the position after John Withers resigned from the board in August.
Miller was sworn in at the end of the meeting.
“We look forward to working with Cindy,” Board President Steve LaMar said. “She has a unique combination of water and engineering experience that will bring an important perspective to the board, and she will represent IRWD customers well.
