Customers think outside the box during Yardtopia® workshop

Creativity wasn’t boxed in during IRWD’s first Yardtopia® Botanical Bento Box Workshop!

During a recent hands-on event at Sand Canyon headquarters, a large gathering of community members came together to learn about the Yardtopia® Initiative and take the first step in creating the outdoor space of their dreams.

Customers designed their own Botanical Bento boxes featuring water-efficient plants while having any questions answered by IRWD’s Water Efficiency staff. A Botanical Bento box is a mini, partitioned planter where different plants are organized into neat, distinct physical compartments. It’s an easy way to spruce up even the smallest space with no hassle and little maintenance. Demand for the Yardtopia workshop was strong, drawing 275 sign-ups. A second event is in the works.

The Yardtopia Initiative encourages residents to plan, design and build the yard of their dreams with intentional, personalized landscape and décor choices. You can find educational articles, inspiring photo galleries, expert resources and more at yardtopia.com.
