IRWD will host an Inner-Coastal Watershed Clean Up site along the San Diego Creek near the IRWD San Joaquin Marsh and the IRWD Michelson Water Recycling Plant on Saturday, September 25. This is the 11th year IRWD has hosted the site in conjunction with Trails 4 All.

Volunteers will meet at the windmill outside the gates of the plant on Riparian View in Irvine at 8 a.m. to register and receive gloves and bags for recyclables and for trash.

The entire family is invited to come and learn about environmental stewardship. Students can receive community service hours for their participation.

Inner-Coastal Clean Up Day is held in tandem with Coastal Clean Up Day, but focuses on collecting trash from creeks and other tributaries before it reaches the shore.

Please wear comfortable shoes, hats, sunscreen and insect repellent. It’s always interesting to see what unusual items are pulled out of the creek bed. The event ends at noon.  More information is available by calling (949) 453-5500.

We look forward to seeing you!
