Discovery Science Center to Hold Summer Camp

IRWD’s San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary and IRWD Marsh Campus will once again host Discovery Science Center summer camps.

The Summer Smiles camp is for children aged 5-6 and features exploration of safe, fun science topics at the marsh. Investigate the world of frogs, flowers, butterflies and dirt. Exciting activities include:

  • Using magnifiers to take a close-up look at butterfly wings
  • Concocting ooey, gooey slime
  • Painting leaf prints
  • Grinding colored sand, and much more

Camp will be held in the Learning Center from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The cost is $125 per child for Discovery Science Center members and $135 for non-members. One-week sessions are July 26-30; Aug. 2-6; Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27.
