With the goal of encouraging the use of recycled water for non-potable purposes, we provide our customers with discounts when purchasing recycled water. IRWD sells recycled water used for irrigation purposes for 10 percent less than potable water. Recycled water sold for industrial purposes such as toilet flushing, cooling towers, composting, and concrete production, is sold for 40 percent less than potable water.

Monthly Service Charge

The monthly service charge for non-agricultural landscape recycled water is based upon the meter size and ranges from $8.75 for a 5/8" or 3/4" meter to $2,933.11 for a 16", 18", 20" propeller meter. 

Recycled Water Pumping Surcharge

A surcharge will be added to the commodity rate of those users who reside at higher elevations and cause the District to incur additional pumping costs to supply their water. The surcharge is based upon prevailing energy costs and currently varies from $0.16 to $0.42 per ccf depending upon the elevation of the area served. If you live in an area affected by a pumping surcharge it will be itemized on your monthly bill.
