Come plant everyone’s favorite tuber, the potato! Whether they’re boiled, mashed, or in a stew, potatoes are always a crowd-pleaser. Kids will plant seed potatoes in burlap sacks to learn first-hand how easy it is to grow spuds even in the smallest of spaces. Celebrate Earth Day by creating a butterfly garden in a pot, full of nectar plants for butterflies and food plants for caterpillars. Learn about plant selection to create a space that will provide for the entire life cycle of butterflies as well as a place to enjoy their beauty.

On Earth Day we need you to take a stand so that together, we can show the world a new direction – to think about how we can protect our planet and preserve it for the future. Environmental partners will be on hand to show you what you can do. Booths will feature family friendly activities including arts and craft, science discovery, and educational infomation.  There will be a scavenger hunt with small prizes for all participants and entry in larger prize drawings.
