People interested in developing or improving their public speaking and presentation skills are invited to join the local Toastmasters Club.
Toastmasters Club 6492 of District F is known as the "Water Meeters," because the group was formed in 1987 by employees of Irvine Ranch Water District. Membership, however, is not limited to IRWD employees and they welcome members of other Toastmaster groups, visitors, or anyone wishing to hone their presentation and speaking talents.
The mission of the Toastmasters organization is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has an opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Meetings are held every Tuesday morning from 7:10 to 8 a.m. at IRWD's board room, 15600 Sand Canyon Avenue, Irvine.
For further information, contact Mary Kay Hassett, Water Meeters president, at (949) 453-5712.
